More Than Skin Deep: Controlling Parasites That Love to Crash the Party

This comprehensive program provides veterinary professionals with a deep dive into the world of canine parasitology, exploring common and emerging threats, and introduces a recently approved comprehensive parasiticide protection product for dogs. Attendees will gain practical knowledge and insights to enhance their ability to diagnose, treat, and prevent parasitic infections in dogs. The program begins with a foundational review of common external (fleas and ticks) and internal (hookworms, roundworms, tapeworms, heartworms) parasites affecting dogs, covering disease states, and key features. Emerging and expanding parasite threats will be highlighted, particularly Echinococcus tapeworms, providing recent research updates and public health implications. A review of a recent isoxazoline speed-of-tick-kill study will be discussed, along with implications for reducing the risk of tick-borne pathogen transmission. Lastly, attendees will receive an introduction to a recently approved broad-spectrum parasiticide product for dogs.
